Tesla accused of Spying in China. Elon Musk, the company’s CEO, has denied allegations that US electric car company Tesla spied on China. He says the company will shut down if Tesla’s vehicles are found to be spying in China. Musk’s response came as news broke that the Chinese military had banned Tesla cars in China.
The Chinese military has expressed security concerns over the alleged use of spying data collected by cameras attached to Tesla’s cars.
Remember that China is the second-largest market for Tesla cars after the United States. In 2020, a quarter of the world’s Tesla cars sold in China.
Denying allegations of spying on Tesla’s cars, Musk said any business used to spy on a foreign government would have a “very negative impact” on the company.

Speaking at the Chinese Business Forum via video conferencing, Musk said. “Our strongest commitment is to maintain the highest level of confidentiality in any information. If Tesla uses its cars for spying in China or elsewhere, we will automatically shut down. ‘
Tesla’s accusations against China over the recent trade war between the United States and China. And the US’s tough stance on Chinese companies is natural. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, which is headquartered in California, has called on the United States and China to maintain mutual trust.
During the high-level talks between the two countries last week, both sides were very angry.
A factory was opened in Shanghai in 2018 to produce Tesla cars in China. The factory is the first fully foreign-owned vehicle manufacturer to open in China.
