Government of Bagmati transfers Rs. 30 million to Dhurmus Suntali Foundation for the construction of the stadium
The Bagmati state government has handed over Rs 30 million to the Dhurmus Suntali Foundation (DSF) for the construction of Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium.
Chief Minister Dormani Poudel on Wednesday handed over a check of Rs 30 million to Dhurmus Suntali Foundation(DFS) Chairperson Sitaram Kattel and Vice-Chairperson Kunjana Ghimire at a function at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Hetauda.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhurmus Suntali praised the work done with enthusiasm. He also expressed happiness over the rapid pace of construction of the stadium. He wished for the speedy completion of the stadium construction project.
The government will continue its support in the coming days. Stating that there are many challenges in the construction of the Dhurmus Suntali Foundation Cricket Stadium, he said that it should be made successful anyway. Stating that the government will continue its support, he said, “Remember that there will be a government next year as well.”
Speaking on the occasion, Social Development Minister Yubaraj Dulal said that the government would continue to provide assistance. He wished success to the foundation as per the vision and suggested the foundation to move ahead by overcoming the challenge.
Similarly, Sitaram Kattel, chairman of the foundation, said that it was a happy day. He thanked the government for providing the land and said that he expected the government to help.

He also informed that 233 people are currently working on the construction of the stadium. And recalled that the lockdown had complicated the situation despite the support of allies. He said, “The situation is problematic but you are still working. The market has to pay Rs 70 million.” However, we have not given up. “
Chief Secretary of the state Dr. Man Bahadur Bik, Chief Political Adviser to the Chief Minister JN Thapaliya, District Coordinating Committee Makwanpur Chief Raghunath Khulal, Secretary at the Ministry of Social Development Deepak Kafle were present.

Dhurmus Suntali Foundation (DSF) is not for profit and non-government humanitarian organization co-founded and established by Sitaram Kattel and Kunjana Ghimire, a comedian duo popularly known as Dhurmus Suntali, on April 25, 2015 (Baisakh 12, 2074). The inception of DSF virtuously was for humanitarian support in the reconstruction of settlements for a survivor of the 2015 Nepal earthquake and since then started implementing social, economic, and infrastructure development initiatives in Nepal.

The foundation works in collaboration and partnership with different government agencies, civil society organizations, and networks including UN agencies and external development partners, and the private sector. So far, DSF has partnered with Non-resident Nepalese societies from different countries, the Ministry of Water Supply and Sanitation, National Reconstruction Authority, Central Bureau of Statistics, UNICEF, UNOPS, Save the Children, and many other non-governmental organizations and individuals.
